Visa Inc names new president
Visa Inc has named John Partridge as the new president of the company.
Partridge moves from his former position as chief operating officer, effective immediately.
His appointment is part of a management restructuring announced in July. Under the reorganization, John Morris stepped down as Visa's president.
Partridge will continue to report to Joseph Saunders, chairman and CEO of Visa Inc, and will oversee all client, marketing and product functions globally, which Visa says will enable it to more effectively allocate resources among markets to enhance its service to clients and speed growth.
Previously, Partridge served as the first president and chief executive officer of Inovant - the company that owns and operates VisaNet, Visa's electronic payment processing service.
Before joining Visa, Partridge was the senior VP of programme management and chief information officer for UNUM Corporation, a disability insurance company in Portland, Maine. At UNUM, Partridge had enterprise-wide responsibility for managing technological capability.
Before joining UNUM, Partridge managed all systems, operations and consumer banking for Banco de Credito del Peru in Lima. His earlier career included 10 years with Wells Fargo Bank. Partridge has a B.S. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
